Unimagined

Obviously I haven't read it yet, but Intend to read this book named Unimagined. Here is also a biography of the Author... hehe! This article explains it better than I can.... also the comments below it are worth a browse....all apart from the fairly feeble attempt at white supremacy by one gentleman from Doncaster.

I think what first attracts me to this book is it's title Unimagined. Its doesn't just say something about what it must feel like to try to live caught between two cultures, but also the mysterious nature of the "other" which can generate fear. How does an individual come to terms with a double whamy of cultural identity? Live through it I guess. As a stranger or "other", no matter what context you might be in it is very difficult to know what it is that you don't know. How do you find out something if you don't know what it is you don't know? hehe! With my lack of knowing spiralling out of control I'll leave it there, but will probably read the book and then be able to write more informedly... so yeah, read the article.

You Are the Very Gay Peppermint Patty!

Softball is the huge tipoff here...
As well as a "best friend" who loves to call her "sir"
Well I really don't think this is quite right... Nevermind!

Worth a mention...

Ooopps... I've never trusted removal men. However, they look devastated, which makes the photo more amusing!

Doctor Who

I've actually caught up thanks to the Easter weekend, and the miracles of digital TV back in Saffron Walden... In york I only have the standard 5 channels... woo! I still live in the days where if you missed it you missed it and theres no going back, not now, not ever... Back to the Doc, I was highly amused by the shameless use of the Harry Potter reference... and also the comment that "50(something) academics just punched the air" as Shakespeare flirts with our dear doctor. Aaaahh... and David Tennant... wha.. what canIi say...?! *grin* I have a thing about men in long coats... it's really quite undefinable...

The Doctor

I have yet to see any of the new Doctor Who episodes, but I do hope to catch it this saturday. With that in mind I found something that I think will be of interest... especially to Venemous Bee... Check it out... a few years old, but I am in the presence of greatness here in York... The York Press... and Mark Troughton talking about his dad, Patrick.

I'm hoping to amend the previous post with some actual photos soon. My Laptop has a big problem and I'm very worried for it's wellbeing...

You may notice my tone of writing... i'm at work and I'm being very grown up. Tsk!
